When it comes to unforgettable dining experiences in Buenos Aires, Rock&Feller’s Unicenter strikes a perfect chord. Located in the vibrant Unicenter shopping and entertainment complex, this 900-square-meter restaurant is a high-energy homage to rock and roll legends. With electric guitars hanging from the ceiling, music videos illuminating multiple screens, and walls adorned with gold records and iconic memorabilia, Rock&Feller’s delivers on its promise — The Exquisite Side of Rock.

A visit to Rock&Feller’s just wouldn’t be complete without sound that matched the visual spectacle. Music is a cornerstone of the brand’s identity, setting the tone for every breakfast, dinner, and cocktail hour. To bring their vision to life, Rock&Feller’s turned to the AV specialists at We Tech Argentina and the powerful, flexible solutions offered by Bose Professional.

The Intersection of Food, Music, and Technology

The Rock&Feller’s team knew they needed an audio system that could handle more than just background music. The goal was to create a consistent, high-quality sound experience across all spaces without visually disrupting the restaurant’s design aesthetic. Whether switching from a curated background playlist to live commentary of a big football match, the system needed to adapt instantly to the restaurant’s dynamic needs.

Each of the restaurant’s three distinct areas — the main hall, a double-height gallery seating 600 guests, and an intimate VIP lounge for 60 — presented unique acoustic challenges. Beyond delivering even sound coverage, the system had to be discreet, flexible, and intuitive enough for the staff to manage effortlessly.

The Bose Professional Solution

Patricio Bertato, Engineering Director at We Tech, led the design effort, using Bose Professional Modeler software to simulate the environment and make informed decisions about speaker placement. To optimize the acoustics, the team treated each area with PET EcoAcustic panels, reducing reverberation and enhancing clarity.

The final solution featured:

45 FreeSpace DS 40F ceiling loudspeakers for discreet, full-range audio coverage
14 FreeSpace 3 Series II subwoofer modules, flush-mounted for low-end support down to 40 Hz
1 PowerMatch PM8500N amplifier, providing amplification and DSP
8 independently managed audio zones including the gallery, entrance, lounge, bathrooms, balcony, VIP lounge, and two subwoofer zones

For daily operation, We Tech created a custom, intuitive interface using ControlSpace Remote Builder, allowing zone-by-zone control and precise tuning. Operation is streamlined through a custom visual interface developed with ControlSpace Remote Builder software. Accessible from a staff PC, the interface enables team members to adjust volume by zone, select from different audio sources — including two PCs, a TV decoder, microphone input, or an HDMI presentation input in the VIP area — and trigger preset scenes.

Beyond Audio: Total AV Integration

Video content also plays a starring role. In addition to the Bose Professional audio setup, We Tech designed and installed a high-definition IP video distribution system that synchronizes video content across the restaurant’s 66 screens, allowing staff to switch between curated music video playlists and special broadcasts like Argentina national team matches. The AV infrastructure ensures a flexible, programmable experience that can evolve to meet guest preferences at any time.

Each week, the Rock&Feller’s content programming team refreshes the mix of rock, pop, and soul to keep the vibes fresh. This commitment to quality, paired with the Bose Professional system’s fidelity and coverage, enhances the overall multi-sensory experience.

For Rock&Feller’s founder Guillermo “Willy” Fernández, music isn’t just background noise — it’s a vital part of the brand’s DNA. “Music enhances the atmosphere and is a key part of our identity,” he explained. “We want every customer to feel the energy and authenticity of our style, and our audio system helps deliver that unique and memorable ambiance with every visit.”

One year after opening, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers praise the lively yet comfortable atmosphere, with music at just the right volume to suit every time of day. Staff appreciate the system’s reliability and intuitive controls, allowing them to focus on service. Most importantly, Rock&Feller’s has seen a growing number of loyal guests, drawn back by an experience that perfectly blends sight, sound, and flavor.
