About the Project
Historic Charm Meets Polish Modernism
The Stradom House Autograph Collection Hotel, located in an historic building in the heart of Krakow, an academic, cultural, social, and artistic hub of Poland, opened in June 2024 to rave reviews. The Stradom embodies the international philosophy of the city, which has a rich cultural heritage dating back centuries that can be attributed both to its native residents and to visitors from other parts of the country and abroad.
The 125-room, luxury hotel is built within an expansive property that housed a 14th century monastery offering a blend of original historic charm and Polish modernism. The multi-functional, luxury hotel features two restaurants, a spa and wellness center, a world-class bar and club as well as a collection of Polish and international art.
The Bose Professional Solution
Highly Customized Equipment for Flawless Integration
This unique hotel concept required an equally unique approach to its audio system, marrying a heritage property with cutting-edge technology.
The interior designers with integrator group Grupa CLUE paid special attention to every detail when designing the hotel and asked that the audio system seamlessly integrate into the interior to maintain the style and historic character of the spaces. Bose Professional was tasked with highly customizing its equipment to match the colors and finishing materials of the hotel so that the audio equipment layered flawlessly into the character of the hotel.
Preserving Cultural Heritage, Embracing Modern Technology
The significance of this collaboration between the Stradom House and the Bose Professonal team extends beyond mere aesthetics. It speaks to Bose Professional’s experience in preserving cultural heritage while embracing innovation. The project required impeccably integrating Bose Professional’s sound engineering with the hotel’s architectural marvels of the past to create an immersive audio experience that complements the venue’s rich history.
For instance, Hedwig’s, the hotel’s bar and club, was built within a centuries-old chapel. And while the beautiful baroque style of this chapel-turned-club makes it the ultimate space for events, such as live music, movie screenings and weddings, the architecture also created unusual acoustics and required a state-of-the-art sound system to overcome those acoustic obstacles. To maintain the Baroque aesthetic while correcting acoustic issues, Bose Professional worked with Grupa CLUE to customize a system based on the room’s unique characteristics, installing six DM5SE on the walls and two DM5C high on the ceiling. Additionally, they used two L1 PRO16 subwoofers for the low-end.
The incorporation of Bose Professional’s cutting-edge sound systems into this historic hotel not only enhances the visitor experience but also exemplifies the company’s commitment to excellence in hospitality. This innovative approach to preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern technology sets a new standard for the industry.
