The FreeSpace 360P Series II is an 80-watt, full-range high fidelity loudspeaker for in-ground and surface installations. It features durable construction and a tamper-resistant design that provide protection from weather, damage and theft. A heavy-duty enclosure and advanced composite driver make this loudspeaker rugged and reliable. It withstands sand, snow, rain, salt and temperature extremes of 158°F (70°C) to -40°F (-40°C). And it survives the Salt Fog test 66% longer than the demanding Marine Industry Standard. The freestanding design with simplified mounting features allows for fast and secure installation in the ground, or attached to a horizontal concrete or wood surface.
The new FreeSpace 360P Series II in-ground loudspeaker is a proven solution for outdoor commercial applications such as restaurants, amusement parks, open-air retail environments, resorts, sports facilities and hospitality venues. It is designed to blend into such outdoor environments as shrubbery, gardens and pool areas, so you can put sound where the listeners are. Its innovative design provides 360° coverage, which means fewer loudspeakers are needed than with many conventional ground or surface-mounted loudspeakers.
Its newly styled polypropylene cabinet makes it easier to install in the ground or on a solid surface. The base plate has been integrated into the product base for simple installations. The FreeSpace 360P Series II loudspeaker has a new, more powerful 80-watt transformer and higher sensitivity—so it plays more than 6 dB louder with less power. Product wiring and tap changes are as simple as twisting two wires together and sealing with the included wire nuts. The domed grille on the base has been upgraded to corrosion-resistant aluminum for protection in high salt environments.
The FreeSpace 360P Series II loudspeaker is available in one model, which can be used in 70-volt, 100-volt, or low-Z (8 Ω) operation and comes in one color: green. PN 40151.
The FreeSpace 360P Series II loudspeaker comes with an instruction sheet and wire nuts for the wire terminations. It is ready to mount in the ground or on a horizontal surface. Three #10 or M4 mounting screws (not included) are required for mounting to a hard surface.
No accessories are necessary for the FreeSpace 360P Series II loudspeaker.
It can be buried in the ground in a hole up to 6.5″ (165 mm) deep. All connections are made at the end of the cable exiting from the loudspeaker. Connect the designated wires to the cable from your amplifier + and – terminals, then protect the connections with the included wire nuts. Twist the appropriate color wire for your desired tap setting with the tap common wire, then use a wire nut to seal. Cap all unused remaining wires with the included wire nuts. Lay the wire junctions in the ground (the wire nuts have silicone for a seal), or install in a bury-rated junction box.
For surface applications, such as on a deck or patio, place the external cable and wire connections under the loudspeaker or in an external junction box. Secure to the surface with three #10 or M4 mounting screws (not included).
No active equalization is necessary; a 60 Hz high-pass filter is recommended.
80 W, 40 W, 20 W, 10 W and bypass (low-Z 8 Ω) tap settings are available.
At the end of the product cable, twist the appropriate color wire for your desired tap setting with the tap common wire, then use a wire nut to seal. Cap all unused remaining wires with the included wire nuts. The wire color designations for each wattage tap are listed in the product manual and on the product label on the bottom of the loudspeaker.
For low-Z (8 Ω) operation, do NOT connect the red and yellow (70V and 100V) wires. Connect the white wire (XFRM) to positive (+) and connect the black wire (COM) to the negative (–). Rated 65 W continuous/260 W peak when operated in low-Z (8 Ω).
