The Bose Professional Panaray MA12 mid/high frequency column array is designed to provide outstanding vocal intelligibility in acoustically demanding spaces with wide 145° horizontal coverage. The slim column enclosure blends with almost any décor.
For indoor applications only.
Twelve 2.25-inch (57 mm) drivers mounted in a vertical line array deliver wide horizontal coverage with narrow vertical pattern control
Modular design allows stacking of multiple enclosures in a line array configuration to provide increased vertical pattern control which improves “throw” distance and reduces unwanted floor/ceiling reflections
145° horizontal × 20° nominal coverage for a single module. Vertical coverage varies with number of modules stacked in line array configuration.
Mid/high configuration allows bass management and design flexibility. Use with Bose Professional MB4, MB12, or MB24 modular bass loudspeakers for full-range reinforcement.
Optional brackets allow easy installation of single-, double- or triple-stack line array modules

(1) MA12 loudspeaker
The Panaray MA12 modular line array loudspeaker is designed for acoustically demanding indoor spaces where speech intelligibility is critical and speech reproduction is the main requirement. To deliver full-range music performance, bass augmentation is required. Twelve 2.25-inch (57 mm) drivers mounted in a vertical line array deliver 145° of wide dispersion and narrow vertical pattern control, significantly reducing ceiling and floor reflections. The MA12 loudspeaker delivers 300 watts (continuous) of power handling and can be mounted in single or multiple loudspeaker configurations. It is well suited for indoor applications such as houses of worship, auditoriums, transportation hubs, atriums, malls, gymnasiums and multipurpose spaces.
“MA” refers to modular array; “12” refers to the number of drivers included.
The Panaray MA12 is the first loudspeaker within the Panaray family of modular line array loudspeakers for engineered sound. It is designed to offer the unique benefits of line arrays for installed and portable systems.
Due to its line array behavior when using multiple loudspeakers, it is mounted at ear height and, therefore, better solves customer problems at a lower overall project cost than conventional systems.
The Panaray MA12 loudspeaker delivers quality sound for voice reproduction. When it is paired with the MB4 bass loudspeaker, the result is a powerful full-range system that can solve many customer challenges. For rooms with high reverb times, the Panaray MA12 performs exceptionally well. It is well suited for such indoor applications as houses of worship, auditoriums, transportation hubs, atriums, malls, gymnasiums and multipurpose spaces.
The Panaray MA12 loudspeaker is designed for acoustically demanding indoor spaces where speech intelligibility is critical and speech reproduction is the main requirement. Bass augmentation is required to achieve full-range music performance. It is made up of twelve 2.25-inch (57 mm) drivers mounted in a vertical line array, delivering 145° of horizontal dispersion and 300 watts (continuous) of power handling. The Panaray MA12EX loudspeaker is a new weather-resistant loudspeaker in the Panaray MA12 family. Designed for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces where voice and full-range music are desired, this loudspeaker delivers full-range music performance between 75 Hz to 13 kHz (±3 dB) without the need for additional bass augmentation. It is made up of twelve 2.25-inch (57 mm) drivers mounted in an Articulated Array design, delivering 160° of horizontal coverage and 150 watts (continuous) of power handling.
The Panaray MA12 loudspeaker offers a wide dispersion pattern with a flat vertical profile. It should be mounted at ear height to place the listener’s ears within this “wedge of sound.” This loudspeaker is ideal for applications that present floor and ceiling reverberation challenges. Its longer throw and gradual roll-off offer a more even SPL throughout the venue. It is simple and convenient to install and service.
It uses 12 small drivers (2.25 in, 57 mm) that offer 155 Hz to 12 kHz (±3 dB). The drivers are densely packed, resulting in high power handling (300 W) and true line array acoustic performance when multiple loudspeakers are stacked.
The bottom of the array has to be at or below chest height of a person sitting in the first row, and the top of the array has to be higher than the head of a person standing in the last row. All the listeners’ ears must be contained in the “wedge of sound.” A slight pitch from 1° – 10° may be applied to the loudspeaker to eliminate reflections off the rear wall, as long as the listeners’ ear heights are still covered within the line array.
The loudspeaker must be used vertically. Horizontal installation will reflect sound on the floor and ceiling, compromising clarity and intelligibility, and providing only a narrow band of sound horizontally.
The Panaray MA12 requires active equalization, which ensures balanced low, mid and high frequencies in the loudspeaker. In addition, it provides high- and low-band pass filtering for speaker protection.
The Panaray MA12—like most other loudspeakers in the Panaray product family—requires active equalization to provide a balanced frequency response, and to protect the loudspeaker while also delivering smooth, accurate spectral response across the entire operating range.
All Panaray MA12 presets are available in ControlSpace engineered sound processors.

Yes. Most systems today consist of various Bose Professional speakers. You can build systems from a variety of Bose Professional speakers that include the Panaray MA12 loudspeaker. For example, a system in a house of worship might use Panaray MA12 speakers to cover the main floor, and Panaray 402 A speakers to cover the balcony.
These two loudspeakers have different performance specifications and different voicing. Therefore, they would need to be used on separate amplifiers with separate controllers. Combining the two loudspeakers is not a typical application. They cannot be combined within the same stack due to bracket limitations in design.
You can use any bass speaker. Depending on the application, you can combine the Panaray MA12 with one or more from the Panaray MB line of modular bass loudspeakers.
It contains 12 2.25-inch (57 mm) drivers, densely packed in a straight line.
A single module can cover an area of 145° (-6 dB) and a throw distance of approximately 60 feet (18 meters). A vertical array of two Panaray MA12 speakers (2 meters high) can throw approximately 90–100 feet (30 meters).
A stacked pair has the same horizontal dispersion of 145° (-6 dB). It gives you greater vertical control of the lower frequencies between 100 and 500 Hz.
They can be mounted as a single module or stacked in multiples of two or three in order to achieve line array performance. Bose Professional loudspeaker mounting brackets are available and tested for use with single-, double- and triple-stack Panaray MA12 loudspeaker installations. For installations of four or more , obtain your mounting system from a reputable manufacturer. Select a system design that works for your loudspeaker of choice and its intended use. Always have a licensed professional engineer review the design and fabrication for structural integrity and safety in the intended application.
Yes, but the front should be flush with the wall surface to keep from limiting the horizontal dispersion.
The loudspeaker and its optional brackets come in black and white.
Yes, with Krylon spray paints or other similar products.
This loudspeaker has two Neutrik NL4 Speakon connectors and one two-conductor barrier strip wired in parallel.
Each module has three connectors in parallel to easily daisy chain the loudspeakers.
Yes. Use the optional CVT-MA12 transformer. Available in black or white, the transformer is designed to attach easily to the Panaray MA12 loudspeaker and allow constant voltage use.
No. It is intended for indoor use only. However, the Panaray MA12EX loudspeaker offers solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Yes. The PSA-MA12/MA12EX stand adapter bracket can be used with the SS-10 loudspeaker stand to enable portable loudspeaker mounting and use.
